University of London到底有没有这所大学？为什么搜不到这所学校但是它却有N多个学院？但凡申请过英国大学的小伙伴，可能大多数都和伦敦大学底下的各种学院有过些许的交集，但是大多数时候都是傻傻分不清楚的状态，尤其是就读University College London（伦敦大学学院）的小伙伴，和国内的亲朋解释起来总有点费劲：我到底读的是大学还是学院？

关于“伦敦大学”
其实啊，伦敦大学确有其“校”，只不过它是由十几所高校以及研究机构共同组成的大学联邦，最早是根据皇家宪章由University College London（伦敦大学学院）和国王学院（ King’s College London 伦敦大学国王学院）在1836年合并而成，是当时英国第一所不分性别，种族或宗教来招收学生的大学，也是第一个开设女生学位课程的大学，被查尔斯·狄更斯（Charles Dickens）称为“人民的大学”。目前伦敦大学也是英国规模最大，最多元化的大学之一，在伦敦就有超过12万名学生，是世界上最具影响力的公立大学系统之一。
伦敦大学联邦经过近200年的扩张，现在已经发展成为包含18个独立自治的学院和10个研究所的巨型联盟，旗下的毕业生与教师，共诞生过72个诺贝尔奖得主、数十位国家元首。如果你已经在伦敦大学联邦就读，那么恭喜你，你的校友和前辈里，有过李光耀、昂山素姬和约翰·肯尼迪这些足够重量级的人物，金融大鳄乔治·索罗斯和华人诺贝尔物理奖获得者高锟也都是你的学长，还有莫文蔚，霍启山，王思聪和林依晨也都和你有过相同的选择。

上面这些伦敦大学联盟的成员，不是所有都会参与排名，比如Birkbeck, University Of London（伦敦大学伯贝克学院），今年好像是第一次上了CUG（The Complete University Guide）的榜单，之前一直是不参与排名的。另外还有远在巴黎University of London Institute in Paris也不参与英国本土的排名。当然很多榜单评的是综合型大学，那么神学或者医学院也就不参与排名了。除了这些特殊情况，委员将上面这些成员里，正常参与排名的，都帮你单独整理出来了，供你参考。
